A
story of greed, love and revenge – a story deeply rooted in the great
traditions of the Greek masters – The Premiere is a thoroughly
contemporary take on the cult of celebrity, examined from without and
within. From stage hands to security guards, and obsessive fans to
‘wannabes’, everyone has their say on the fabulous, glamorous world of the
film star. At the same time, the real story, the actuality that never
appears on the pages of the glossy magazines, is told through the story of
Johnny Grey. Johnny isn’t just an actor. He is a young man who has risen
rapidly through the ranks to become the actor, the box office
sensation of the season. Johnny Grey is the epitome of that old chestnut
“women want him, and men want to be him”.
